An enjoyable doco. touching on some, but also many aspects, past and present, of Gold. From the glittery worked creations of man to the stored value of gold in bars and brick shaped blocks. Gold lost by adventure (misadventure) at sea and modern day retrieval. Now days some people who privately over-sight the market for gold question where and who possesses the (stored) bullion. A predominant participant in the doco's presentation took cause to the US regulator. This market apparently dominated by bullion bankers, a market seriously and predictably compromised. These people voiced concern as to production replacement of gold, gold lost to the human decoration industry etc. Told the trading of gold and silver is illusory, that is, not matched by available possessable trade-able commodity. A court case resolved in a applicant's favour: the applicant charged for safe keeping of silver by a trader who didn't have any to keep for their client ( the court applicant). Don at times in conjunction with a member present, often has spoken where gold a topic of the evening, the chicanery in the marketing of this commodity.

We ASC members were told suras are identifiable to specifically propitiate mortal acts, as a zealot, (Ed. couldn't be other) would commit as it's Allah will. So the video covers Islam expansion during and for about one hundred years after Mohammad's death: North Africa, Spain then a push to the North but turned back by Frankish armies led by Charles Martel. North of Arabia to the Black Sea ( Byzantine Empire), Caspian Sea (territory shown as Magyars) and Aral Sea (West Turks) To the East Afghanistan and later India came under Caliphate ("Mughal") rule. The Caliphate of the Ottoman Turks from the fifteenth to the twentieth century not introduced, but the armies of the Caliph pushed West as far as Vienna twice 1529 and 1683. A planet considered by those regarded as our (incl. myself) "betters" over optimized. NOW this breeze of long overdue reason from the world of academia. If only for this alone
to put aside four hours of travel to ASC venue. Members, myself included, thoroughly feed-up
with the whining, emotive attacks promoted whenever a issue of gun ownership arises due to
some "half baked" reporting of some incident, anywhere in the World, a firearm in the hands of
a member of the public, who's not in uniform, and alleged misuse of a weapon. We all know(?) (or we all should know by the time of voting age) who are the traitorous "criminals". Those erroneously misusing the sovereignty, bestowed by forebears of currently enfranchised, people physical like those they claim to represent. Then there's the anti-gun control element with attitudes expressed formally (above), a spokesperson come to the fore, expressing trite condemnations on behalf of (well documented) internationalists intention. Willfully oblivious to a World undergoing change and caring less holding out for their reward.
So when Don made this streaming available it was a delight to members to listen to what was
said. Rational and incisive, debunking the "death wish" hype (A-G.C. element apparently
have such a wish). Exposing anti-gun control moves within bureaucracy by those who apply
their branded culture to politicians and governments alike. Surely sinful nationalists(sic), public servants to us all, who well understanding the mounting disharmony within society and engendered fears consequent; public servants who don't advise their Ministers accordingly: existing draconian gun control legislation has well passed its use-by date.
A pleasure hearing thoughts expressed by a person with a healthy mind, on what shouldn't be
a contentious subject.
There's a saying "ignorance is bliss" surely not when survival is in the balance.

A incisive commentary on China by two academics. Aligning economics and military strategies
of the China's Communist Party into a prediction as to China's threat to the region as a whole. We were told of the three stage development since the late 1970's:-

(3) In general how China's munitions (as a non-global strategic power) stacks up against those of the US and others claiming free World status.(4) Combat weaponry both land and sea is inadequate and will remain that way for a long time to come.

Inferred there isn't a threshold ultimate, China will remain always behind the advances the West will achieve.] With this assurance he goes on to say, a worst case scenario should China bring it on (war), America and its allies including Australia, [Ed. as with IS (Islamic State)] Australia would contribute a "niche" contribution.] He concludes with strategies Australasia could possibly execute to hold back China's Imperialism.
COMMENT
But wait a moment, as another China watcher (Dr. James Saleam) has stated Australia is undergoing Chinese colonization. No, this is not why this globe setter and wife happened to catch the author's attention, it was because what elsewhere would be called "insider trading". Being in a position to gain advantage at financial loss borne by an other(s). However this isn't the case presented, no misappropriations -- remember, lady Secretary -- as foreign aid money got mixed with that of the foundation. Apparently, what doco. viewers, (the readers of the book) and Don are left to ponder are a numerous instances of coincident; if this pair's activities were "insider trading" positions, charges and convictions as law determined would have followed, the analogy doesn't hold here [ed. this confirmed by the author].

But wait a moment, as another China watcher (Dr. James Saleam) has stated Australia is undergoing Chinese colonization. So who's to says the course that brought on WW11, will be followed should either of the two "Fifth columns" within the boarder decide to seduce national support from without. A American past president, his wife since January 21, 2009 till now Secretary of State, so on it went to reveal a family foundation, a trust to benefit a gradation of countries from old World established to new World and third World desperate. A (past) president who according to his wife -- later Secretary of State -- left office assumed in penury carrying debt. [ Ed. club members as myself would have recalled instances of recent Prime Ministers of this country on retirement with wealth and business interests]. Does it seem unnatural for the bloke in question -- a subject of the book -- to capitalize on fame by delivering address' at a price wherever invited. No, this is not why this globe setter and wife happened to catch the author's attention, it was because what elsewhere would be called "insider trading". Being in a position to gain advantage at financial loss borne by an other(s). However this isn't the case presented, no misappropriations -- remember, lady Secretary -- as foreign aid money got mixed with that of the foundation. Apparently, what doco. viewers, (the readers of the book) and Don are left to ponder are a numerous instances of coincident; if this pair's activities were "insider trading" positions, charges and convictions as law determined would have followed, the analogy doesn't hold here [ed. this confirmed by the author].

Interesting video from the 60's -- either Thames or BBC television -- this black and white recording, an interview with Sir Oswald Mosley conducted by a well known presenter then and since. Sir Oswald a politician of the 30's and 40's during WW11, he believed had the Reich (Germany) won the war Britain would have been economically better off with this outcome. Difficult to argue with this position as what has happened since. Backing-up his impressions with now historical fact and as he understood the politicking taking place during that era. There was a public gallery, the audience apparently drawn significantly from London's East End, with favoured* people representation. For others present the hostility towards Sir Oswald would have been palpable. [ Sir Oswald was the former head of the British Union of Fascists]

A commentator said because of the chairman's dictate back in 1949, the Chinese will never give up on its claim to possess this China and other island nations encircled water. By thaw-ting US diplomacy particularly with rival claimants (to those of China), and by occupation of the most Southern Spratly group China hopes to get recognition to this sea territory. It is understood the stand-offs between the "eight" and the US has not been brought to the/a international court(s) for territorial determination. Vietnam attempted to drill for oil but stopped, intimidated by China into submission. So, inferred from the doco. a message for those who should be concerned, stave-off the day when either of the two "heavies" start drilling the sea as did Vietnam.

[viz. listen to Intro. sound file]. We heard of Fractional Reserve Deposits* and how this crept in, and remains institutionalized as a system of circulating money. The unique relationship that developed with membership of both the FRB and CFR (Council for Foreign Relations). A centalisation of authority in the hands of a few is a concern to many Americans. Apparently the producer shares those concerns, before the end of the federal reserve story there's an inquiry into money-bank ( incl. the Internet) alternatives.
Helping the narration were commentaries, those of Edward G. Griffin author "The Creature from Jeykell Island" particularly, interlinking and providing explanation when needed to the FR story.
Dates to remember:
-- December 1913 the third and lasting attempt at establishing a Central Bank with permission to issue currency.
-- 1934 when the FRB hands gold held to the Federal Treasury, in exchange for "gold certificates".

We (members) were then positioned to learn who succeeds when rivals collude. Graphs presented showing real wages flattening while money supply has grown in America and labour Union dues dropping in America, Germany, Japan and the U.K. Could this be the reason in Australia for the replacement of members from the "rank-in-file" by the university educated with commercial motivation(?)
