The year 2008 post inauguration ... what transpired?

The months of August and September given to Formalities: Inviting known supporters of C.S.C. to membership in accordance with the club's articles, the issue of incorporation with O.F.T - N.S.W. and the adoption of rules to satisfy the club's non-profit status. Not forgetting appointment to positions members were to fulfill.

The months of October and November -- because of the lateness in the year -- the first and subsequent talk was delivered by our secretary. Don Brooke by virtue of his recently acquired legal qualification, submitted a discourse on the background of Pauline Hanson's One Nation party, its structure, financing, her subsequent imprisonment by the Queensland government and the decline of One Nation; those implicated in the party's genesis, rise to legal standing and decline etc.

The public meetings when Don delivered his talk on One Nation drew a few people from the earlier C.S.C.  Those that attended during this period learned of the club's formation by "word of mouth". More had to be done to increase attendance, individually A.S.C. membership spread the "word"; two to three members suburban based liaised with other groups with a social conscious, these liaisons were to carry over to the following year. Another member issued letters at the end of October to R.S.L. clubs: Ashfield, Auburn, Belfield, Belmore, Campsie, Drummoyne and Hurlston Park (all close to A.S.C. venue). This after conferring with the secretary (D. Brooke) who believed nothing would eventuate, He was Right! My
belief is that those letters never got exposure at the respective clubs?...? The test yet to come, our secretary at the outset had indicated optimism Burwood R.S.L., its members and guests would inflate numbers in support ...
